Terms of Service
Welcome to Furvia. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Furvia app, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services") operated by Furvia, Inc. ("Furvia," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Furvia. Some features, such as booking paid services or offering services as a provider, require you to be 18 or older. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Pet Care Services
Furvia is a marketplace that connects pet parents with independent local caregivers ("Providers"). The Services let you discover Providers, book pet care, schedule appointments, message Providers, and manage bookings. Bookings made through Furvia create a direct service agreement between you and the Provider; Furvia is not itself a Provider and does not perform pet care services.
4. Service Providers
If you register as a Provider, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your business, services, and credentials
- Comply with all local laws, licensing, and insurance requirements that apply to pet care services
- Honor accepted bookings and communicate promptly with pet parents
- Treat all pets in your care with safety, kindness, and professionalism
- Maintain a profile that reflects your real services and pricing
Furvia may review Provider profiles for completeness but does not independently certify individual qualifications. Pet parents are encouraged to review provider profiles, ratings, and communications before booking.
5. Payments & Fees
Payments are processed securely through third-party payment processors (currently Stripe). When you book a service:
- The total amount shown at checkout includes the Provider's service price plus any applicable platform fees and taxes.
- Furvia may charge service fees to pet parents and commissions on Provider earnings to operate the platform.
- Provider payouts are issued through the processor, subject to verification and any holding periods required for fraud prevention.
- Furvia does not store full card or bank credentials.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
Each Provider may set their own cancellation policy, which will be shown to you before you complete a booking. Refund eligibility depends on the Provider's policy and the timing of the cancellation. Furvia may, at its discretion, refund platform fees in cases of platform error, fraud, or other exceptional circumstances.
7. Community Content
You may share photos, videos, stories, and other content within the Furvia community ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. By posting it on Furvia, you grant Furvia a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, distribute, and create derivative works of your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Services.
You are responsible for the content you share. You must have the right to share any content you post and must not upload content that infringes the rights of others.
8. Acceptable Use & Community Guidelines
When using Furvia, you agree not to:
- Post content that is illegal, abusive, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or harmful to pets
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any organization
- Use the Services to send spam, scams, or unsolicited commercial messages
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with security or platform features
- Scrape, copy, or reuse Furvia content or User Content without permission
- Use Furvia for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws
We may remove content, suspend accounts, or take other action when these guidelines are violated.
9. Pet Safety Disclaimer
Pet care involves inherent risks. Furvia is a marketplace and does not directly perform pet care services. While we work to build a trusted community, pet parents are responsible for evaluating Providers and sharing accurate information about their pets (medical conditions, behavior, allergies, etc.). Providers are responsible for the care they deliver. In the event of an emergency, contact a veterinarian or appropriate emergency service immediately.
10. Intellectual Property
The Furvia name, logo, app, website, and all related materials are owned by Furvia, Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license to use the Services granted to you under these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.
11. Account Suspension & Termination
You may close your account at any time from within the app. Furvia may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, harm another user or pet, abuse the platform, or create legal or operational risk. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate the reason when allowed.
12. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Furvia does not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Furvia, its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services. Furvia's total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you paid to Furvia in the twelve months prior to the claim or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if unresolved, through binding arbitration or in the state or federal courts located in the United States, except where prohibited by applicable law.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify users through the app, by email, or by posting an updated version on this page. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
